I designed this for my fundraising..a t-shirt design.
I am going on the World Race in September. It is an 11 month, 11 country mission trip. We will be going to countries such as India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda, Romania, Ukraine, and 3 unknown countries. We will be working with widows, orphans, prostitutes, gypsies, and people like you and me. We will be preaching the gospel, praying over sick, and lots more. YAY! I am excited for this adventure. I have raise $5,600 out of $14,500. If you are interested in a t-shirt let me know.

Our project during G.A.M.E.S was for the kids to create a picture of themselves. The kids drew a face the first day, trying to resemble themselves. Then we broke down the face and created projects for each feature. These are just a few of the final self-portraits. The children ranged from age 4-11.

The Rafiki Foundation is a Christian organization whose goal is to help Africa’s orphaned and vulnerable children become godly contributors to their communities and the world. With nearly 2 million orphans in Kenya, God has chosen 80 children to be a part of this great plan.

I have been back for a couple weeks, and I have been trying to put into words just how amazing and life changing this trip has been. It is very hard to do that.

The national staff, ROS, directors, mini-missionaries, mamas, and everyone else who serves in the village were amazing. I couldn't have asked for more amazing people to be surrounded by everyday.

The children are incredible and their joy is so pure. They have little, but have been saved and now have a life with a future. We (missionaries) were there to teach art, play sports, paint, garden, and do whatever tasks were needed at the village. The school was transformed with new paint and now bright colors fill the classrooms. It looked amazing! A great way to start school.

I loved those children more than I thought possible, and their faces will never be erased from my mind. I love them very much and will be returning to see them again. It gives me hope that someday we may all find this joy and love each other as these children do.

Kenya was amazing. I want to write about the experiences and what Rafiki is, because it was more than I ever expected. Serving there was easy and difficult, but God's hands were on it all.
Here is a cute picture of Stella.

I also wanted to share this painting I started at 5am this morning(I am still a little off with sleeping). I can't stop thinking about the childrens' faces and this sort of feels like pieces of all them. I am still working, but I wanted to let you see that I am painting again.

I recovered this bag. It was a gift and the design wasn't my style. I wanted to get use out of this bag, so I found this fabric, sewed it on, and added a few buttons because they were fun. If only I had a sewing machine...it would have been much easier.

The end of school got really busy, and I haven't done much work of my own. Just editing the kids works and adding whatever needed finished, but that is done. Here are 2 pictures of a record purse that I made for Robert Rauschenberg Day.
